CHICAGO, May 22, 2024 – An Illinois Lottery player is now a millionaire after recently purchasing a jackpot-winning Lotto ticket worth a cool $1 million.

The ticket was purchased for the Monday, May 20 drawing at a BP gas station in Wadsworth, a town 45 miles north of Chicago, home to over 3,000 residents.

The lucky player purchased the winning ticket matching all six numbers in the Lotto Million 1 drawing to score the $1 million jackpot prize. The winning numbers were: 2-8-10-18-22-28.

This is also a big win for the retailer that sold the winning ticket, as the store will receive a selling bonus of one percent of the prize amount. For BP in Wadsworth, located at 39105 North Highway 41, that means a bonus of $10,000.

So far this year, over 2.5 million winning Lotto tickets have been sold, with total prizes amounting to more than $32.8 million for Illinois Lottery players.

Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw in which to claim their prize. The Illinois Lottery encourages all lucky winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they’re ready to claim their prize.
