CHICAGO, June 25, 2026 — There’s no better way to kick off summer than with a million-dollar payday.
A Chicagoland resident is celebrating after winning a $1.3 million Lucky Day Lotto® jackpot, turning an ordinary stop at a local gas station into a life-changing moment.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket at the Oswego BP, located at 2791 US Highway 34 in Oswego.
“I just stopped by the store for a drink and thought, ‘Why not?’” the winner recalled. “I played a Quick Pick, and it turned out to be a lucky day.”
The ticket matched all five numbers in the Thursday, June 11 evening Lucky Day Lotto drawing to score the game’s $1,300,000 jackpot. The winning numbers were 1-13-19-27-35.
The winner said he initially struggled to believe the news.
“I didn’t believe it at first—I asked myself, ‘Am I dreaming?’” he said. “Once I scanned the ticket and realized the numbers matched, reality set in.”
Overjoyed, he wasted no time sharing the big news with his wife.
"She was thrilled," he said. "It's funny—I actually won a $45,000 prize playing this same game 15 years ago when it was called Little Lotto."
The winner plans to use the prize money to purchase a new house and help provide financial security for his and his wife’s retirement.
“We are just so grateful for this blessing,” he said. With a laugh, he added, “I’m sure our kids will be, too.”
For selling the jackpot-winning ticket, the Oswego BP will receive a bonus of 1% of the prize amount, totaling $13,000.
Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois-only draw game with two daily drawings at 12:40 p.m. and 9:22 p.m., and jackpots starting at $100,000. Tickets are available in-store, online, and via the Illinois Lottery app.
