Illinois Lottery Account Payments, Deposits, & Withdrawals

How do I add a credit or debit card so that I can make a deposit into my Illinois Lottery account? 

To deposit funds, verified players must first add their credit or debit card to their Illinois Lottery account. After logging in, navigate to My Account. From there, select My Wallet and then Card Management to add your credit or debit card. We accept most forms of Visa®, MasterCard®, and Discover® credit and debit cards. Please note that some banks (e.g., Capital One, Chase, Goldman Sachs, and CitiBank) do not allow their credit or debit cards to be used for lottery transactions, which may result in a decline when attempting to make a deposit. 

After you have added your card, please select Deposit Funds from the My Wallet section of your account. Clicking Add More Funds will allow you to select your funding option and the deposit amount for the transaction.
Deposits cannot be withdrawn and must be used to purchase tickets via your account. 

The credit or debit card used must be in the player's name, and the address on your account must match the address associated with the credit or debit card. Mismatched information may result in a declined transaction.

Can I deposit funds via Apple® Pay or Google Pay™?

Yes, players may deposit funds using Apple Pay or Google Pay.

What is the minimum amount I can deposit? 

A minimum of $10 can be deposited per transaction. Each player also has a deposit limit of $1,050 per rolling seven day period. This limit can be adjusted by the player in their Illinois Lottery account to be lower than the pre-defined limit, but it cannot exceed $1,050. There is also a maximum wallet limit of $2,000. Deposits will not be allowed if a player is at or near this limit. If winnings cause your total account balance to exceed $2,000, the excess winnings will be sent to your mailing address via check.

How do I withdraw my winnings from my Illinois Lottery account?

From your online My Account section, click My Wallet and Withdraw Funds. If you haven’t added your bank account, you can do so by selecting Bank Account Management first. Winnings over $10 can be withdrawn via check to the address on your account, or, if you have a bank account attached to your Illinois Lottery account, you can request an ACH transfer. Note that many banks do not allow the transfer of funds from a Lottery or gaming provider, so you may be unable to add your bank account. If you experience any issues, we recommend contacting your bank directly.

How do I check my wallet balance?

Your wallet balance will be displayed at the top of your screen, to the right of your name when you are logged into your Illinois Lottery account. Click your balance to learn more about the funds in your wallet. 

Can I automatically reload my wallet when my balance falls below a set threshold?

Yes, with Auto Reload you may set up an automated deposit amount when your balance falls below a threshold that is set by you, between $10 and $100, and in a $5 increment. 

Please note that Auto Reload is subject to a 7-day Deposit Limit and will be suspended automatically in any week your deposit limit would be exceeded. Additionally, your credit or debit card information must remain valid and up to date, and your bank must approve your transactions. There is a possibility that your bank does not allow lottery transactions via your credit or debit card. If your card is not accepted, please contact your credit or debit card provider for more information.

Is Auto Reload automatically turned on?

No, Auto Reload is turned off for all players. To activate Auto Reload, you must manually turn on Auto Reload in your online My Account section when you are making a deposit. 

How do I set up Auto Reload?

Please visit your online My Account section and navigate to My Wallet then Deposit Funds. To set up Auto Reload, please do the following: 

  1. Select the ADD MORE FUNDS button.
  2. Choose CREDIT or DEBIT CARD as your payment method.
  3. Enter your card information, then click CONFIRM (if necessary).
  4. Select the amount you wish to deposit. Toggle the Auto Reload button, turning it blue. Choose the low account balance threshold that should trigger your Auto Reload. Enter your card's 3-digit CVV code. Then click DEPOSIT WITH CARD.
  5. You should receive a message that reads, “Your Auto Reload has been set up successfully.” If you do not, please contact the Player Hotline at 1-800-252-1775 for assistance.

What payment method can I use for Auto Reload?

At this time, you can only use a credit or debit card for Auto Reload. We accept most forms of Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Apple Pay and Google Pay are not accepted for Auto Reload.

Is there a minimum deposit amount required for Auto Reload? 

Yes, for Auto Reload, you must deposit a minimum of $10.

What are my Auto Reload amount options? 

You can set an Auto Reload deposit amount up to $200. You will be prompted to select $20, $50, or OTHER. Selecting OTHER will allow you to customize your deposit amount; only whole dollar values are accepted (i.e., no cents). Please note that a $10 minimum deposit amount is required.

What low account balance threshold can I set to trigger my Auto Reload?

You can select a low account balance threshold between $10 and $100, in $5 increments to trigger Auto Reload. When you set up Auto Reload, use the “+” and “–” buttons to increase or decrease your low account balance threshold.

I have Auto Reload enabled. When will my account be funded? 

Your account will be funded whenever your account balance drops below the low account balance threshold you set.

How long will it take for my Auto Reload to show up in my Illinois Lottery account? 

Your Auto Reload may take up to 1 minute to appear in your Illinois Lottery account after it’s activated.

How do I know if Auto Reload is active or inactive in my Illinois Lottery account?

Please visit your online My Account section and navigate to My Wallet then Deposit Funds. If Auto Reload is active, an icon that reads ACTIVE will be displayed. If Auto Reload is not active, an icon that reads INACTIVE will be displayed.

How long will Auto Reload remain active once I activate it?

Auto Reload will remain active until you manually delete your Auto Reload.

Can I edit my Auto Reload at any time?

Yes, you can edit your Auto Reload at any time. Please visit your online My Account section and navigate to My Wallet and then Deposit Funds. To edit your Auto Reload, click the EDIT icon. You will be taken to a page where you can edit both your low account balance threshold and the deposit amount.

Can I delete Auto Reload at any time?

Yes, you can delete your Auto Reload at any time. Please visit your online My Account section and navigate to My Wallet and then Deposit Funds. To delete your Auto Reload, click the DELETE icon. A pop-up will appear, requesting you to confirm the deletion of your Auto Reload. Select DELETE to confirm or CANCEL to leave your Auto Reload as is. 

How will Auto Reload affect my subscriptions? 

Auto Reload will help you minimize the chances of missing a subscription purchase by keeping your wallet funded.
