What Types Of Devices Can Download the Illinois Lottery app?
The Illinois Lottery app is currently available on iPhone® models dating back to the iPhone 7, as well as iPad® models dating back to the iPad Air 2. It is also available on most Android devices that use the operating system Android 10 and above.
Do I need an account to purchase games on the app?
Yes, you need an Illinois Lottery account to purchase games on the app. If you don’t have an account, you can either create one online or on the app.
Which games can I purchase on the app?
You can purchase tickets for Fast Play, Powerball®, Mega Millions®, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto®, Pick 3 and Pick 4.
How do I add funds to my wallet on the app?
Once you sign in, you can tap the Balance at the top right of your app, or tap the Account icon at the bottom of your screen to access your wallet and add funds with a credit card or debit card.
How do I make a purchase on the app?
Select your game from the Play tab on your app. Once you've selected which game to play, follow the prompts to select your ticket(s). You must be logged in and within the State of Illinois to make a purchase.
How do I choose my numbers for Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4?
To choose your numbers, tap on each number you’d like to play. Your numbers will change color, indicating your choice. If you wish to change your numbers, select Clear Selections to start over.
To use Quick Pick, simply tap on the Quick Pick button. Your numbers will change color, indicating each choice.
Where can I find the winning numbers for Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4 on the app?
Tap the Results icon at the bottom of your screen to view all winning jackpot and daily game numbers.
How can I determine if the Illinois Lottery tickets I purchased in retail are winners on the app?
To determine if your ticket is a winner, either select the Results icon to view winning numbers or scan your ticket’s barcode using the ticket scanner feature. To scan your ticket and see its result, tap the Scanner icon at the bottom of your screen and, using the camera on a mobile device, position the camera over the ticket’s barcode, so the barcode is in the indicated area.
Draw game barcodes are located at the bottom of the ticket. Instant Ticket barcodes are located at the bottom of the ticket; you must scratch to reveal the barcode.
What else does the ticket scanner allow me to do?
You can use the ticket scanner to play a Fast Play Scan-N-Play ticket. To do so, scan the ticket’s barcode, located at the bottom of the ticket. Once scanned, the game will launch in the app.
Do I need to provide a phone number to use the app?
No, you do not need to provide a phone number to use the app.
Will the app send me push notifications?
The app will only send push notifications if you opt-in to receive them.
To opt in during the set up process, download and open the app. When you receive a prompt that asks whether the Illinois Lottery can send you notifications, tap ALLOW.
To opt-in after you have already set up the app, follow the steps provided below for your type of device.
- Tap the Settings icon;
- Tap Notifications;
- Locate and select the Illinois Lottery app from the app list; and
- Tap the Allow Notifications toggle.

- Tap Apps & Notifications;
- Tap App info and select the Illinois Lottery app from the app list; and
- Tap App notifications and then tap the toggle switch.
What sort of notifications will I receive?
You will receive notifications that include information such as upcoming draw times, jackpot alerts, new instant ticket game releases, and recent winner announcements.
How will I download updates for the app?
You can either enable your app to automatically download updates upon setup or manually download updates from your app store. We recommend automatically updating our app so you have access to new games and features.
Do I need an account to check the winning lottery numbers, use the retail locator, or use the ticket scanner on the app?
No, you do not need an Illinois Lottery account to check winning lottery numbers, use the retail locator, or use the ticket scanner on our app.
If I created an account online, do I need to create an account on the app as well?
No, you only need one Illinois Lottery account. If you already created an account online, simply login to the app, using your email address and password, to start playing.
Is there a minimum amount of funds I must maintain in my wallet?
There is no minimum amount that you must maintain in your wallet. However, if you’d like to add funds to your wallet, you must deposit a minimum of $10 per transaction.
If I use the app, how do I know if I have won?
If you’ve won a game you purchased on the app, we will send an email to the address associated with your Illinois Lottery account. You can also find information on past draws in the Account section of your app under My Games.
